… Definitely not a solo DIY.
Why?
Because, holding the tensioner with the tensioner tool and trying to stick an allen key wrench into the socket at the same time is impossible.
Edit: Drove Cherise around a day after installing, and I must say the car is responsive. My old belt must have loosened up over the past 4 years but not enough that it would noticeably slip.
Oh and I also had a MASTER technician check out my ride and awesomely enough, Cherise is doing well on her bushings and what not even at the 4 year mark. The only thing that would become a problem in the next 5k miles or so is my motor mount, but that’s because I never leave 2nd gear in rush hour traffic.
Edit: Here is the PDF file how-to for the DIY belt change. I take no credit or liability for someone doing their own DIY. I’m just hosting the file.
My last paycheck was only for one day, which didn’t put a dent into my debt, so I’ve been crunching more hours in at work. But really though, I’m considering getting a second job just to handle my excessively expensive habits. Not to mention how much more money I’ll spend when I do drop another 20 lbs. because that means I can finally go wardrobe shopping! My spending habits are so expensive that I require two jobs, what the hell…
I’ve been dragging along these last few days. Standing for 8 hours a day at work really kills it for my legs. Well not so much my legs as it is my knees. It always makes me look like a noob driver at work when I pull out of the parking lot because I almost always stall out, lol. My knees, they just don’t work like they used to!
I did go to the Pluckers Arlington location and it was a good eat. Not as great as the Austin location but not too bad. I had a good time with my friends there too. It’s always amazing when friends trickle in for dinner and drinks, which causes a transformation of a booth of people into sardines shoved into a tin can. It was fun, needless to say.
I’ve got a busy schedule for this weekend. I’m pretty much going to be on the go for three days, which means I’ll fall off the face of the planet for that time frame. But actually I do want to blog about my event on Friday, but only after it’s all said and done. I’m looking forward to it.
I lost a quart of oil in Cherise somehow. Not sure where it went exactly.
So yeah, bought oil to dump in her engine for today and for the next oil change.
What the above sentence really means is: I’m broke.
Hopefully the oil loss is from the bad pulse generator (or whatever) seal that went bad about last month, but it’d be weird that the dealership didn’t top me off on the oil since they fixed the seal. I guess it’s my bad too since I haven’t been checking like I should have been.
